Sing, sing a song

This morning as I tried to find something interesting to post to this blog I ran across a blog which talked about an alumnus of Dan's Alma Mater Duke University.  The graduate, who goes by the name of Anthem, has written a hip-hop tribute to Duke University, in which he gives shout outs to many famous alums, including Dan Abrams and Charlie Rose.

Dan Abrams to speak at Hofstra University

For all of you who have come to the blog looking for a new post sorry, I've been really busy with work and other things, but  I haven't forgotten you, so here is a little something for you.  From the Hofstra University Website:

The Inner Workings of the Supreme Court are considered from the unique point of view of NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg and NBC and MSNBC chief legal correspondent Dan Abrams. This lecture is on Thursday, October 8 at 3 p.m. in the Monroe Lecture Center Theater, California Avenue, South Campus.

It should be a very interesting lecture, hopefully there will be a review or some type of write up and I will post it here.

A blessed Rosh Hashanah to all

Rosh Hashanah is the first of the High Holy days in the Jewish religion, it is celebrated on the first day of the 7th month of the Jewish Calendar. I really don't know much about it other than some research that I did for a project for my Comparative Religions class in college, so I won't try to explain it. However if you are interested check out this article from:

It's a PDF file, but well worth the download.

Also check out Wikipedia for a very quick overview of the topic.

Thank you again Canada

Having lived across the river from Windsor all my life I've had a fondness for our Canadian neighbors for some time.  Not  only did they provide us with hockey and some great junk food they also have helped their American neighbors in times of need.  A fire department from Vancouver BC arrived in LA two days after Hurricane Katrina with their search and rescue team to help out.
But one of the most heart felt gifts came from Gander Newfoundland which played host to the passengers of 38 aircraft which could not return to the US due to the airspace being closed.  Tonight the CBC will show the docudrama Diverted about the incident; if you can get a Canadian station watch it, it is very good.

The Gander airport website has a great page with links dedicated to the story:
So to all those from Canada Thank You.

We must never forget

8 years ago America suffered the most horrific tragedy ever and while it isn't first thing most of us think of every morning we cannot forget those who gave their lives.  So here are a few memorials I found around the Net.
This is one of the most heartfelt memorials ever:

Mike's 9/11 Memorial Page

And I found this page dedicated to the only animal to perish when the towers fell - Sirius of the Port Authority.
Memorial to Sirius

And one final site, a gift from the people of Russia remembering 9/11

Gossip Cop, Mediaite and Health

Last Saturday Dan Abrams was interviewed by Mark Simone on 77WABC.  During the course of the interview Dan discussed his two web properties Gossip Cop and Mediaite.  And when asked about health care he gave a very interesting take on the situation.  You can hear the interview here:

WABC - Mark Simone

It's the second interview on the page.
