One of my pet peeves is when the media teases viewers with stories that are either ridiculous or grab out attention for days, then after the first few reports the stories seem to float away into a black hole never to be heard from again. So tonight I have decided to do my own updates on 3 stories which Mr Abrams discussed on the Today show this year.
First, who could forget the Countess Marie Douglas-David, the woman, who could not live on less than 53,000.00 a month though the post-nuptial she had signed was for considerably less. The divorce was granted in July and the New York Post gives us the final accounting:
Somewhere between the Rose Bowl and the Inauguration of Barack Obama there was a breaking news story about a pilot who had parachuted from his plane and allowed it to crash, thus hoping to fake his own death. Well Marcus Schrenker was sentenced to 51 months in prison in Federal Court, but his civil trial for his money schemes has been postponed until March of next year. You can read more about it in this article:
And what is Schrenker doing while he awaits his March trial date? He plans to write a book of course.
And the last of my three updates:
Bonnie Sweeten, the woman who's alleged abduction kept the media's attention for a few days, until it was discovered that she had never been abducted and the entire thing was a hoax. She was finally located in Disney World with her daughter.
So what happened to Bonnie?
